Step Up For Students is a state-approved nonprofit scholarship funding organization that helps administer two scholarships for Florida schoolchildren: the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program (FTC) for low-income families and the Gardiner Scholarship (PLSA) for children with certain special needs. Today we remember the gruesome event of Jesus’ Passion and death on Good Friday. Every year I hope to approach these holy days with more awe, reverence and prayer than the year before. But every year I experience this awkward limbo after the Good Friday service and into Holy Saturday. [Read more]

On Tuesday morning, April 11, Bishop Emeritus John Ricard celebrated the Chrism Mass at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. At this Mass, the priests of our diocese renewed their priestly promises and the oils to be used throughout the diocese for the year were blessed. [View photos]
