With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Deacon Bob Macko. Surrounded by loved ones, Bob passed away on Saturday, September 14, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
On the evening of September 5th, Bob was taking an evening walk on Old Bainbridge Road. Just a few steps from his home, Bob was hit by a car. The driver stayed on the scene and called 911. Bob had severe injuries and spent several days in the ICU before his condition deteriorated on Saturday. Please keep Bob's wife Mary and their daughter Ashley in your prayers.
Bob was ordained as a deacon on June 11, 2005, by Bishop Ricard. Since his ordination, Bob has been assigned to St. Louis Catholic Church Tallahassee and has also served as the spiritual moderator for the Cursillo movement in our diocese.
Arrangements have been made for Deacon Bob's Celebration of Life. The arrangements for Bob's Celebration of Life are as follows:
Friday, September 20th at St. Louis Catholic Church
Visitation with vespers (evening prayers, roughly 15 minutes) 6:30 - 8:30 pm.
Rosary to follow.
Funeral Mass Saturday, September 21st at St. Louis Catholic Church beginning at 11:00 am.
A reception will follow at the parish hall immediately after the services.
