"Last Monday, a brick covered with antisemitic messages was thrown through the window of the Chabad Jewish Center in Pensacola. As bishop of this local church, my heart aches as a result of the disrespect perpetrated on our Jewish brothers and sisters. As we cling to our faith in God, who is our peace, we must stand in solidarity with our Jewish brothers and sisters. Every life is sacred and every person is precious. I am asking persons of good will to continue to pray for the conversion of all people, that they may reject violence and protect the intrinsic dignity and value of every human life. Recognizing the frustration and anger felt by many people, particularly those who are marginalized for reasons of religion or culture, let us commit to working to unite and heal our communities. Let us pray for those who have suffered or been affected by violence, hate and oppression." - Bishop William A. Wack, CSC
