"To the great dismay of our bishop and priests, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought about the need to suspend public liturgies for Holy Week. Over the last few weeks, Catholics in our diocese have been learning how to keep holy the Lord's day without attending Mass. Thanks be to God He has given us the ability to spiritually unite ourselves to Him by watching livestream Masses. Every household should stay connected to their parish and the larger Catholic community through watching Holy Week liturgies through social media or on television.
We also recognize that many households desire to deepen their observance of the mysteries of the Triduum within their domestic churches, their homes. If your family has such a desire we offer the following resources as easy to follow templates to celebrate the liturgical touchstones of these holy days in a more tangible way. Each template includes the appropriate adaptations from the Roman Missal, Scriptural readings, links to a reflection from Bishop Wack, discussion questions, and various prayers to recite together. Depending on the capabilities of your household you can choose a longer or shorter version of each celebration.
We hope that you will find some new traditions for your family, learn a few things, and grow ever closer to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!"
