Hosted by the Catholic African American Cultural Awareness Group of Okaloosa County, this rich and colorful annual event is to emphasize black involvement in the Catholic Church through evangelizing. The goals are:
A. To increase levels of awareness both culturally and spiritually within our families, community, church, and workplace.
B. To be a visible sign of Black involvement in the Catholic Church.
C. To reach out to all, sharing God's word and love.
This event is open to all denominations. The public is welcomed and encouraged to help celebrate this annual event. The Eglin Air Force Base Brotherhood Gospel Choir will begin with a concert at 2:00 p.m., with a celebration of Mass at 2:30 p.m. The Most Reverend William Wack, C.S.C, bishop of Pensacola-Tallahassee will be the celebrant and The Most Reverend Fernand J. Cheri, III, O.F.M., auxiliary bishop of New Orleans will be the homilist. A reception will follow at the Monsignor Mullins Parish Life Center. For more information, contact Roland A.
