Chief Operating Officer

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee runs the day-to-day operations of the diocesan Pastoral Center at 11 North B Street in Pensacola, FL. In addition, the COO is responsible for the leadership of the Pastoral Center departments to support the overall work and mission of the Diocese, partnering with clergy and other leaders to build up the vibrant spiritual life and religious mission of the Diocese. 

This role includes supporting the Diocesan Pastoral Center staff and the overall work of the Diocese in its 18 counties while assisting the Bishop with the development and implementation of his vision for the local church. This position is responsible for the strategic, programmatic, administrative and financial management of the Pastoral Center of the Diocese.

On July 18, 2022, Bishop William A. Wack, CSC,  appointed David Ell to the position of Chief Operating Officer of the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee, effective August 15, 2022.
